New Moon + Justine Wachsberger

For all the unusual internet stalking, drooling, lip-gloss printing on
posters, and sexy-glittering vampires, New Moon is yet another
teen-throbbing movie soon to be out. The Twilight series is back in motion
pictures with a love triangle consisting of actors Kristen Stewart
(portrays Bella Swan), Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen), and Taylor
Lautner (Jacob Black).
Just four years ago, the phenomenon of the Twilight series by Stephanie
Meyer began and teens across the globe fell in line for vampires and
werewolves. With a view from a "damsel-in-distress" character, Bella Swan,
readers began living vicariously through her senses.
Meyer’s idea for the books came to her as a dream on June 2, 2003.
Bewildered by the essence of the story, she captured her thoughts onto
paper and began writing the chapters that will later build the worldwide
cult of vampire-loving audiences.
The first book of the Twilight series was officially adapted for the
screen in late 2007. Upon hearing of this news, fanatics became anxious
for the film. Merchandise then poured in and further profited the
production. Its opening day in theatres reeled in over 30 million dollars
and concluded with over 300 million dollars.
Alerted by the popularity of the film, production quickened their pace and
immediately obtained rights to the next three movies and begun production
for the second movie in the series, New Moon, in November of 2008.
Though Catherine Hardwick who directed Twilight was no longer attached to
the second film, fans remained loyal while Chris Weitz (The Golden
Compass) took over.
With New Moon completed, audiences are raving about the werewolves in the
film as New Moon is all about drama, jealousy, and a bit of lust. Though
some of the characters are vengeful, the cast continued with great
chemistry on the set.
Justine Wachsberger who portrays Gianna, the human receptionist of the
Volutri (leaders of the vampire cult), thought the cast members were
“extremely down to earth and friendly” and there were no “pretense on
set.” Working with all but the werewolves, Wachsberger was “extremely
grateful and honored” to be a part of the film that has plastered the
minds of many.
Another familiar face became a part of the film. 15-year-old Dakota
Fanning portrayed Jane, a member of the Volturi. Wachsberger, who filmed
alongside Fanning, believes the young starlet is “one of the best
actresses of this generation.”
Aside from Fanning, Wachsberger was able to work with the rest of the main
cast whom she found “refreshing.”
From a young age, Wachsberger had always "wanted to be an actress." She was put in acting classes, and from there, this young starlet had shined. A new addition to her resume, Twilight has "definitely opened doors for [her]. At this point [she is] happy to be a working actress."
"I heard of the Twilight series a little before Twilight the film came out. The buzz was so big that I decided to go see the movie. And I really enjoyed it!" A moment she recalls from set was when "walked on the set for [her] fitting and the security staff thought [she] was a fan."
Wachsberger "guarantees that the fans will not be disappointed! More action, better special effects and the love triangle is so intense!" New Moon will be released on November 20, 2009.
Q. Have you seen any of the Twilight actors' work before?A. I have seen a lot of Dakota Fanning’s movies. I saw Kristen Stewart in Panic Room and Into the Wild. And, I absolutely loved Michael Sheen in Frost/Nixon. Q. What were you most excited for upon filming?
A. To become a working actor! I was very excited to work with Chris as well, and the rest of the cast. Q. If you could star in any movie, past or upcoming, which film would that be?
A. Such a hard question to answer, there are so many amazing movies from the past that I would have been honored to be in, however the actors in them did a phenomenal job, which is what make the films so great! Same with upcoming films, the actors in them I am sure did fantastic work, there are a handful of films coming up this fall I can’t wait to see.
